We are kicking off State Fair 2017 in a big way with a big visit from a BIG entertainer. Singer, Actor, TV host Harry Connick Jr. is making his way to the Bank Mutual Amphitheater on the opening day of the fair August 3rd. The star of the CW18 show "Harry" will be on the Amphitheater at noon to meet and greet fair goers. It's going to be a great time as Harry has always talked highly of Milwaukee and Wisconsin. His love of the local cheese curds is well known but he's in for a treat when he samples the deep fried variety. In fact he probably doesn't know how much fried food we actually eat. He's got an hour at the fair so he'll have to move fast to sample all the new food coming this year. Fair officials are excited to introduce nearly 70 NEW food and beverage additions. Descriptions of all the new food items are available at WISTATEFAIR.com

The last time that Connick Jr. was in Milwaukee he took time out to pull a shift at Leon's Custard stand. Customers were shocked to see him behind the counter handing over the revered Milwaukee treat.

Harry is hilarious and you are going to want to check out the Youtube video below.

Yesterday I sat down with Jen Puente the Marketing Director and Partner with State Fair. Jen and I were able to talk about Harry's visit and all the upcoming fun at the 2017 Wisconsin State Fair.

Some of the acts that should be enjoyed are "Here Come the Mummies", "Big Bad Voodoo Daddy" and John Mellancamp. You don't need tickets to the Bank Mutual Amphitheater but you will need tickets to the Main Stage presented by Potawatomi Bingo and Casino. Tickets are still available but they are going fast.

But, we really want you to come down to the Bank Mutual Amphitheater opening Day August 3rd at noon and take part in the Q & A with Harry Connick Jr.

The 2017 Wisconsin State Fair, presented by U.S. Cellular, will take place Thursday, August 3 - Sunday, August 13.
